EFDA on the job training
This on-the-job training program is specifically designed for dental assistants currently working in a clinical setting who seek to formalize their skills. Focusing on the practical application of advanced procedures like sealants, liners, and coronal polishing, this course ensures students meet Florida’s certification requirements for expanded functions.

ADEX Prep Course
Focused on hands-on training, this course allows dental hygiene students to practice clinical and judgment skills using a typodont simulator. It prepares students for the ADEX examination, essential for obtaining a dental hygienist license in Florida.
Bench Test Prep Course / Crown Preparation-Bench Test Course
This intensive course prepares international dentists for the bench test examination, a key component of the U.S. dental licensing process. Participants engage in practical exercises designed to enhance their proficiency and readiness for professional assessments.
EFDA and X-RAYS Certification
Approved by the Florida Board of Dentistry, this course trains international dentists and dental assistants in expanded functions, focusing on certification requirements and practical skills under Florida’s regulations.

Florida offers exciting opportunities for aspiring dental assistants! Here's what you need to know:
No National Certification Required: Unlike some states, Florida doesn't require the Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) credential to work as a dental assistant.
Formal Training for Expanded Functions: To perform expanded duties in Florida, you must receive formal training in those specific procedures. There are two options:
Complete a CODA-Accredited Program: Graduate from a dental, dental hygiene, or dental assisting program accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) that incorporates expanded function training within its curriculum.
Complete a Florida Board-Approved Program: Alternatively, you can complete a separate Florida Board-approved Expanded Duties Formal Training Program.
